CCTV Finance Channel Focuses on Circular Economy: Hebei Remei Polymer Materials Co., Ltd. Enables High-Quality Regeneration of Waste Plastics!

"Waste is wealth in the wrong place."
On June 5, 2023, the 52nd World Environment Day, CCTV’s Economic Half Hour program aired a special report titled "Turning Waste into Gold: Unlocking the Door to a Circular Economy."
This year’s World Environment Day theme in China is "Building a Modernization in Harmony with Nature." Aligning with this theme, the report provided a detailed introduction to China’s achievements in waste recycling and circular economic development, highlighting outstanding enterprises in the field.
Hebei Remei Polymer Materials Co., Ltd., a leading company in China’s recycled plastics industry, was prominently featured.
- China Leads the World in Plastic Waste Recycling Efficiency
In recent years, with the rapid increase in global plastic consumption, "white pollution" caused by plastic waste has become increasingly severe.
Professor Wen Zongguo, Director of the Circular Economy Industry Research Center at Tsinghua University’s School of Environment, explained that if plastic is not recycled and instead enters the environment directly, it gradually breaks down into microplastics. These microplastics not only harm the growth of plants and animals but can also re-enter the human body through the food chain, posing health risks.
To reduce plastic pollution, China introduced the Opinions on Further Strengthening Plastic Pollution Control in 2020 and the 14th Five-Year Plan for Pollution Control Action Plan in 2021. These policies have led to significant progress in plastic waste recycling and reuse.
Prof. Wen noted, "China currently generates 60 million tons of plastic waste annually, with a recycling rate consistently between 33% and 34%. This places China at an advanced level compared to developed countries. However, compared to metals and paper, plastic recycling rates remain relatively low."
This indicates that China’s plastic waste recycling industry still has enormous potential for further development.
- Driving Innovation with Technology: Specializing in RHDPE Plastic Pellet Production
Hebei Remei Polymer Materials Co., Ltd. was founded on August 28, 2020, and is located in the Northern Circular Economy Demonstration Park in Dingzhou, Hebei Province—China’s largest plastic recycling base. The park recycles over 1.5 million tons of waste materials annually, 80% of which is plastic.
Remei is an innovative high-tech enterprise specializing in the research and production of food-grade recycled high-density polyethylene (RHDPE) plastic pellets.
The company operates a digital smart factory covering 40,200 square meters, with a total investment of 120 million yuan. It has introduced 15 internationally advanced production lines for crushing, cleaning, and pelletizing, with an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons of RHDPE pellets and an annual output value of 575 million yuan.
Additionally, Remei has an independent polymer materials research laboratory staffed by over 10 top-tier polymer R&D experts.
Through continuous investment in innovation and technology, Remei has mastered the production technology for food-grade RHDPE plastic pellets, increasing the recycled content in blow-molded products to over 40%.
Discarded milk bottles, soy sauce containers, vinegar bottles, and other waste items undergo a series of processes—including crushing, washing, material sorting, and color sorting—before being transformed into recycled plastic pellets. These pellets can then be used to manufacture traffic barriers, marine buoys, drainage pipes, industrial films, and other plastic products, reintegrating them into daily life.
Currently, Remei and its RHDPE plastic pellets have obtained certifications such as the ISO Triple Management System, ISO50001 Energy Management System, and GRS Global Recycling Standard, among others. The company also holds more than 40 independent patents, making it a leader in China’s food-grade RHDPE pellet production sector.
Leveraging its expertise, Remei actively explores new models for the recycled plastics industry, integrating upstream and downstream resources to establish a complete industrial chain—from collection and pelletizing to reuse of waste HDPE plastic products.
Remei’s Dingzhou plant processes 300 tons of plastic waste daily, covering the recycled small and medium-sized hollow container market in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. This has significantly improved the recycling efficiency of HDPE plastic products, creating a robust recycled plastics ecosystem serving a population of 100 million. The company has made substantial contributions to reducing plastic pollution and advancing the circular economy.
