The Only Answer to “Is This Plastic Actually Recycled?”
As we engage in global technical dialogues across industry fairs, one question keeps coming back:
“How do we know if recycled plastic is actually recycled?”
With 2026 environmental mandates approaching, the answer is clear: traceability.
Following our RecyClass recertification in April 2026, we want to share why this “Digital Passport” for plastics is becoming the foundation of the circular economy.

1. What is a Chain of Custody?
RecyClass is not just a certificate. It is an accounting system for molecules. Every kilogram of waste entering our facility must be balanced against every kilogram of PCR leaving as finished product.
No traceability = no proof. No proof = no claim.
2. Why Recertification Matters
Initial certification proves you can do it once. Annual recertification proves you can do it every day, for 365 days.
In recycling, reliability is a habit – not a onetime event.
3. Beyond RecyClass: GRS + EPR
At REMEI POLYMER, traceability is not a single certificate. It is a system:
✅ RecyClass (recertified April 2026) – EUrecognized chain of custody
✅ GRS certified by SGS – full traceability from waste source to finished rHDPE
✅ EU Authorized Representative – actively managing EPR compliance for our European customers
4. Fighting Greenwashing with Data
Without a verified audit trail, “recycled” is just a marketing slogan.
With traceability, global brands get:
Verified feedstock origin (household waste vs. industrial scrap)
Accurate recycled content calculation
Process integrity from intake to shipment
The bottom line:
In industrialscale recycling, the most valuable asset is not just the resin itself. It is the verified story behind it.
No hard sell. Just a shared commitment to transparency.
